Catholic Central High School is located in downtown Grand Rapids, where room for growth is at a premium. The new expansion of the school takes this into consideration by building up, not out. The new second story 9,300-square foot addition provides the high school with six extremely needed classrooms, a faculty conference room, and a staff lounge.
Although the project seemed small in scale, it required a great deal of coordination between the client and Erhardt Construction. The school continued to utilize the existing one story building throughout the construction process. This resulted in very detailed schedule coordination. Another crucial element to the project was the removal and replacement of the existing elevator and roof while the building remained in use.
Erhardt committed to having the students of Catholic Central High School in their new classrooms within six months and we met our commitment.
